Chasing Waterfalls

May 19th, 2014 The Heat is on in Miami but not nearly as hot as Southern California. I'm relieved to know my San Diego framily is ok. See you soon! Meanwhile in Indiana, the Heat was #turnt down. I'm not a weather forecaster but expect temperatures to rise Tuesday night at a rapid pace! I've been asked to assist with a secret project for the NBA playoffs. If you are in Miami, love the Heat, and would like to be a part of something epic, just email me at doc@doctordribble.com with the...

Mother’s Day

May 12th, 2014 Hope all the moms enjoyed their weekend. I love my mother for always being there for me. I look like my mother and we both appreciate good food so a Mother's Day brunch was appropriate. The Rusty Pelican was spectacular and the only thing better was the company! It was the Passover Gang plus my cousin Tanya surprised her mom all the way from Arizona! Me and Lil Ball stayed all weekend at The Ritz-Carlton in Key Biscayne. She is a super mom and my queen. Not just this...

Ambi Power!

Success starts at the top of every great team and organization. Pat Riley and Mickey Arison are just as important in the Miami Heat's success as Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. The Los Angeles Clippers spent decades failing to reach the playoffs and I attribute that to it's Owner at the time, Don Sterling being a racist. These leaders may not be responsible for putting the ball in the basket but they either inspire or discourage everyone under their umbrella. The New York Knicks knew...

Ambassador Love

April 28th, 2014 Sorry Lil Ball, I’d love to celebrate on hump day with you but duty calls. Wednesday, my birthday will be spent in Whistler, Canada thanks to Lululemon Athletica. I’ll be representing South Miami at this year’s Ambassador Summit. I’m even bringing a little Heat with me. A lot shaking and baking in the NBA Playoffs. Unfortunately there’s been a black cloud hanging over them since the rant caught on tape by L.A. Clippers' owner Donald...

White Hot!

As I reflect on the busy week that passed I can't help but think of family. I spent a lot of time with Magda and Roman, saw my aunt and uncle at Passover, celebrated April's birthday with my Newton Method family, spoke to Sponge nearly everyday, talked to my sister in NY, and saw my brother from another mother, Jonathan! I love my family and it extends beyond blood. Monday was Passover and all week I was eating matzoh ball soup, mushroom farfalle, tzimmes, charoset, and different kugels at...

My Ambitions As A Writer

Besides Michael Jordan, my favorite basketball player of all time is Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon. Sadly the only book I've ever read cover to cover was his autobiography "Living The Dream." That was in high school. This year I will read another book. It's also a biography. Written by Seth Davis, "Wooden" is all about the life of my favorite coach and his philosophies for success. One day I will have a published book too. I aspire to inspire! Tuesday, I instructed a basketball clinic for the...

Up & Up

Life is an uphill battle but the view from the top is always worth the climb! I teach my clients not to look for shortcuts and be consistent so they'll appreciate what was earned. Some even get addicted but that's ok. Health is a healthy addiction! My body is getting stronger with every workout at Newtons Method and every egg white omelette at Roasters n Toasters. I practice what I preach. Temptation is in every restaurant and there are always days you may not feel like going to the gym. I...

Spring Into April

Transition is a process of change. They say in order to survive you must adapt to change. Florida, Wisconsin, Kentucky, and Connecticut have all survived March Madness to advance to the Final Four of this year's NCAA Tournament. Me and little Revete also advanced! Last week we celebrated our first anniversary in a very romantic restaurant overlooking Miami's beautiful skyline. This week is the beginning of April and I feel brand new! It's my birthday month and I've been training hard at...

March Madness

This is always one of my favorite times of the year. The NCAA tournament is filled with so many emotions. Watching all the upsets reminds me that no matter the odds, anything is possible and never take your opponent for granted. My bracket like everyone's is busted. My Final Four is Florida, Michigan St, Wisconsin, and Duke with the Gators winning another Championship. "Two sets of threes": Never lie, never cheat, never steal. Don't whine, don't complain, don't make excuses. This is...

There’s a first for everything

Being my first blog I have much to catch up on. The first week of the year I made a long dream a reality by creating a charity of my own, Doctor Dribble's Helping Hands. The first race of the year was the Walt Disney World Half Marathon followed by the Full Marathon the very next day! I wasn't alone on that. My girlfriend Magda took on the Goofy Challenge as well. Who runs their first ever marathon the day after running a half? My lil lady does. A week after that I was in Arizona for my...
