Every Moment Counts
I’m not taking anything for granted. There is so much to be thankful for. I’m lucky to live in Miami where I can train outdoors all year long. There is something euphoric about a long distance run. It seems like no matter what obstacles I face, a good run always makes everything better. I enjoy not having to worry about my shoe laces coming untied. Now that I’ve found LaceClips, I never have to tie my shoes again! You can get yours at www.LaceClips.com.
The future is bright. Last weekend I was very impressed with an event created by four high school students to honor the memory of a young man that sadly passed away at the age of 18. It was a 3 on 3 basketball tournament and 3 point shootout that raised money for Miami’s Transplant Foundation. It was sold out. Having known the Zander, the young man that passed away, and coached the high school students behind the event, I was very proud.
A lot of people have asked me if I’ll be running in this weekend’s up and coming Miami Beach Half Marathon. I wish I could be in two places at once. I was called out to run in Puerto Rico’s World’s Best 10K, which is also on March 1st. I’ll be hosting a two day basketball clinic while I’m there. If you’re lucky enough to go please call 787-244-1188.
Heat Nation added an exciting new player to the roster last week when they traded for Goran Dragic. Last year he was named to the All NBA Third Team. Unfortunately, a day later we learned that our All Star forward, Chris Bosh, will miss the rest of the season with a blood clot in his lungs. More important than basketball is life and I hope he is able to recover 100 percent. Everything could be fine and in the blink of an eye change. Don’t take things or people for granted. Live everyday with purpose.
