Up & Up

Life is an uphill battle but the view from the top is always worth the climb! I teach my clients not to look for shortcuts and be consistent so they’ll appreciate what was earned. Some even get addicted but that’s ok. Health is a healthy addiction!

My body is getting stronger with every workout at Newtons Method and every egg white omelette at Roasters n Toasters. I practice what I preach. Temptation is in every restaurant and there are always days you may not feel like going to the gym. I recommend to write down your workout schedule in advance and to schedule your cheat days. Once you’ve done this you’re more likely to stick to it. Are you up for the challenge?

I learned a lot about climbing this weekend at Rock n Roll’s San Francisco Half Marathon. I dribbled my basketballs up and down hill after hill. It was one of the more difficult courses but I’m not complaining. There was so much to love about it. We started on Ocean Beach, ran over the Golden Gate Bridge, and a downhill finish at City Hall! Perfect running weather with spectacular views and rock group The Neighborhood was the headlining band. They got on stage just after I finished and performed their new hit “Sweater Weather.” The Rock n Roll Marathon events always rock!

I woke up early Saturday morning to surprise a group of kids at St. Mary’s Rec Center as a special guest for a basketball clinic. San Francisco native and And 1 basketball player, Cardell Butler aka Ballaholic is running a great program and welcomed me with about 15 boys and girls between 5-7 years old. I put on a demo and had them go through a series of ball control drills. The energy level was through the roof and all everyone wanted to do was dribble. My kind of party!

Next week will be just as exciting. Break a sweat with me during Cardio Lab. I’ve got a new favorite song, “It’s On Again” by Alicia Keys and Kendrick Lamar. One word: fire! Monday night the NCAA Championship game is up for grabs between Connecticut and Kentucky. Who predicted that?Anna, Laura, and Lauren will give me a personal goal coaching session at Lululemon in South Miami. Thank you for getting me up to Vancouver for Ambassador Summit! What a birthday present! I also get to travel with my one and only to Raleigh North Carolina for another Rock n Roll Half Marathon. Life is pretty pert.

Things are looking up,

Doc
